Love & Logic

"Love and Logic"

Love and Logic a common-sense approach that teaches skills that cultivate confidence and good decision-making in children by offering them choices, empathy, and respect while adults avoid anger, threats, warnings or lectures.

Join us for 5 Thursdays (February 11 – March 11) for this important Christian, parenting presentation. We will serve free coffee & donuts. Classes will begin at 9:30 a.m. and end about 11:00 a.m. A $5.00 book fee is the only expense you will encounter utilizing this class. Call or come by the school office to enroll.

*A special "thank you" to Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Branch #30437, for sponsoring this event.

The Philosophy of Love and Logic

The Love and Logic Process:

  1. Shared control: Gain control by giving away the control you don't need.

  2. Shared thinking and decision-making: Provide opportunities for the child to do the greatest amount of thinking and decision-making.

  3. Equal shares of empathy with consequences: An absence of anger causes a child to think and learn from his/her mistakes.

  4. Maintain the child's self-concept: Increased self-concept leads to improved behavior and improved achievement.

The Rules of Love and Logic:

Adults take care of themselves by providing limits in a loving way.
